Los propósitos de este trabajo fueron identificar los aspectos socieconómicos y ambientales contemplados por las empresas generadoras de agrocombustibles en el Valle geográfico del río Cauca y con base en dicha información realizar el análisis Beneficio-Costo y determinar el porcentaje de inversión en los componentes social y ambiental, tanto para cada ingenio, como para la región. La información se obtuvo de los informes de sostenibilidad ambiental del año 2015 presentados por seis ingenios productores de agrocombustibles de esta región del país, con los cuales se construyó una matriz comparativa de costos (de inversión social y ambiental, salarios, impuestos y operativos) utilidad y beneficios, los valores totales para el Valle geográfico del río Cauca se obtuvieron como la sumatoria de los valores de todos los ingenios para cada ítem, los cálculos para la región se realizaron a partir de los valores totales. Los principales impactos socioeconómicos de la actividad productora de agrocombustibles en el Valle geográfico del río Cauca son la generación de empleo, educación y deporte que brindan a la familia de los trabajadores y a la comunidad afectada. Dentro de los impactos negativos sobresalen la contaminación con agroquímicos y la afectación de la biodiversidad en los ecosistemas y áreas de protección naturales adyacentes a las empresas. La inversión general en responsabilidad social y el compone social equivale al 3,3% de los costos totales de producción, la utilidad es del 13% y la relación Beneficio-Costo es 1,3.
The purposes of this work were to identify the socio-economic and environmental aspects of the agrofuel generating companies in the Cauca river Valley and the Benefit / Cost analysis. The information was obtained from the environmental sustainability reports of the year 2015 presented by the six agrofuel producers of the Cauca river Valley. The main socioeconomic impacts of the agrofuel producing activity in the Cauca River geographic ValLey are the generation of employment, education and sports that they provide to the family of workers and the affected community. Among the negative impacts are the contamination with agrochemicals and the biodiversity affectation in the ecosystems and natural protection areas adjacent to the companies. The general investment in social responsibility and the social component is equivalent to 3.3% of the total production costs, the utility is 13% and the benefit / cost ratio is 1.3.
