dc.descriptionLa importancia que tiene mantener un cuerpo de agua sano radica en los servicios ecosistémicos que éste nos presta, permitiendo un funcionamiento correcto de los organismos, la regulación de la temperatura facilita el transporte de nutrientes, juega un papel fundamental en los ciclos biogeoquímicos, además de ser el elemento natural vital que permite el desarrollo de seres vivos. Uno de los objetivos del milenio es luchar contra la degradación del medio ambiente, es por ello que el cuidado y mantenimiento de los cuerpos hídricos es un tema de gran importancia, mantener y mejorar la capacidad ambiental de los ecosistemas es un objetivo por el cual se debe trabajar desde las diferentes áreas o campos de estudio. El presente proyecto de investigación permitió determinar la relación entre la calidad del recurso hídrico y la salud humana, a partir de un diagnóstico situacional que permite reconocer el estado en el que se encuentra la zona de estudio, identificando los impactos negativos que tiene la actividad humana sobre el río Chicamocha; se establecen los costos de tratamiento y prevención de las enfermedades causadas por la contaminación y se relacionan con los resultados obtenidos en la fase inicial del proyecto de investigación; de tal manera que la información obtenida nos permite formular programas orientados al mejoramiento de la calidad del cuerpo hídrico, así como enseñar a la población afectada a disminuir la posibilidad de ocurrencia de los eventos diarreicos en la población humana de la vereda la costa del municipio de Soatá Boyacá.
dc.descriptionIt is important to maintain a healthy waterbody because of the eco-systemic services that it provides, allowing a proper operation of organisms, regulating the ambient temperature, making easier the transport of nutrients, playing a key role in biogeochemical cycles, besides of being the vital natural element that allows the development of living beings. One of the goals of the millennium is to fight against environmental deterioration, which is why the care and maintenance of waterbodies is a matter of great importance, maintain and improve the environmental capacity of ecosystems is an objective to work on from different fields of study.This research project allowed to determine the relationship between water quality and the human health, starting from a situational diagnosis that allows to recognize the current status of the area of study and identifying the negative impacts that human activity has on the Chicamocha river. From there, the costs of treatment and prevention of diseases caused by pollution are estimated and connected to the results obtained in the initial phase of the research project, in such a way that the information obtained allows us to formulate programs focused on improving the waterbody’s quality, as well as teaching the affected population how to reduce the possibility of occurrence of diarrheal events in the human beings living in the village of la Costa in Soatá, Boyacá.
