dc.descriptionEl presente trabajo de grado, tuvo como propósito identificar cuál de los tres tipos de plantas utilizadas: Citronella (Cymbopogoncitratus), Albahaca(Ocimumbasilicum) y Lavanda(Lavandulaspp.), es la más eficiente como repelente y determinar la mejor concentración para obtener un mayor tiempo de repelencia. Para dar cumplimiento a este propósito se realizó un proyecto de investigación en laboratorio; por medio de extracción en frió y un rotavapor se obtuvieron los extractos de las plantas. Se realizaron bioensayos con 10 voluntarios para determinar la mejor concentración en donde hubiese repelencia y 8 voluntarios para determinar cuál de las concentraciones presentaba mayor tiempo de repelencia de cada una de las plantas. Para la sistematización de los resultados se utilizó un análisis de varianza (ANOVA) el cual nos generó resultados estadísticos mediante los cuales de forma matemática nos muestra la concentración y el tiempo de repelencia efectivo para cada uno de los extractos utilizados. Los resultados mostraron que el extracto con mayor efectividad es el de lavanda a una concentración de 2.4% para repelencia y un 60% para tiempo de repelencia; seguido de este extracto está el de Citronella que genera buenos resultados a las mismas concentraciones pero no con la misma efectividad, es decir, esta última genera un tiempo de repelencia menor que la Lavanda; y en comparación con estas dos plantas, los resultados de la albahaca no arrojan una buena efectividad. dc.descriptionThe present degree work had as purpose to identify wich of the following three used plants: Citronella (Cymbopogon citratus), Basil (Ocimum basilicum) and Lavanda (Lavandula spp.) is the most efficient as repellent, and also determine the best concentration to obtain a longer time of repellency. To accomplish this purpose was conducted an investigation project in laboratory; the extraxts of the plants were obtained trough cold extraction and a rotatory evaporator. Bioassays were performed with ten volunteers to determine the concentration with the best repellency, and eight volunteers to determine wich of the concentrations of the three plants show the longer time of repellency. For the systematization of the results was used an analysis of variance (ANOVA), wich generates statistical results in a mathematical way, trough wich, with a confiability of the 95%, shows the concentration and the effective repellency time for each of the used extracts. The results showed that the most effective extract is the Lavanda´s extract at a concentration of 2.4% fot repellency and a 60% for time of action; the following extract is Citronella´s extract that generates good results at the same concentration but without the same efectivity; and in comparation with this two plants the basil´s extract don´t generates a good efectivity.
